DropSnip is a local-first application. Your screenshots, annotations, and data stay on your Mac. We do not collect, store, or transmit your images or personal information.

Data Collection

DropSnip does not collect:

Local Processing

All image processing, annotation, OCR text extraction, and AI analysis (via LM Studio integration) happens entirely on your device. No data is sent to our servers or any third-party service as part of core app functionality.

Plugins

DropSnip supports optional plugins that can upload screenshots to third-party services (e.g., Imgur, Slack, S3). These plugins are:

Plugin credentials marked as "secret" are stored in the macOS Keychain. We never have access to your API keys or tokens.

Third-Party Services

When you use a plugin to upload a screenshot to a third-party service, that service's own privacy policy applies to your data once transmitted. DropSnip is not responsible for how third-party services handle your uploads.

macOS Permissions

DropSnip requests Screen Recording permission from macOS to capture screenshots. This permission is managed by macOS and can be revoked at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security.

Purchase Information

Purchases are processed by Gumroad. We do not store your payment information. Gumroad's privacy policy governs the purchase transaction.

Children's Privacy

DropSnip does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or collect any personal data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
